Argentur
What's that?
Argentur is a web application that simplifies photo permission management in Flickr. It links to your Flickr account, shows thumbnails of your photos and visually indicates their privacy settings. You can change photo privacy just by clicking!
Why?
I created Argentur out of frustration. It always bothered me that it's so difficult
to set photo privacy in Flickr. The Organizr does not show privacy levels, and the
Photostream is just too clunky to use.
Please remember that this is a learning experience for me (I wanted to try a new
technology and fiddled around with Microsoft Silverlight). So if you find any bugs,
glitches or have any comments or suggestions - just
drop me a line.
What's up with the name?
I wanted to use Microsoft Silverlight for this project. "Argentum" is Latin for silver. I added the "r" to the end to indicate that the app interfaces with Flickr. Clever, isn't it?
Okay, let me see the thing!
No problem.
- Just be sure you have Microsoft Silverlight 2.0 installed (or Moonlight in case you're using Linux; your milage may vary, since Moonlight is still under development).
- You will also be asked to authenticate with Flickr, so that Argentur can change privacy of your photos.
